Awesome finish from the internet!

I received my completed Lily Pond Dreams in the mail today from Laural!

It's been through two UFO-RR rounds and is done! It was one of the first pieces I started, and I was still in love with it, but I was really stuck. You know how it gets. I've been working really hard on my UFOs that I receive to generate good stitching-karma, and I was rewarded.

She need a bath and a pressing, but here she is:

I'm sending out another one I'm stuck on. I really want to work on it, but when I pull it out, I'll put a couple of hours into it and then just ignore it on the qsnaps. I bring you TW's Egyptian Sampler...

Pretty pathetic, huh? I started it just after it was released. And then apparently wandered on to something else. Maybe when I get it back from the UFORR I'll be inspired again, because I really want to work on some of my TWs (they take up a huge chunk of my rotation list).

Hopefully I'll have another HD soon, because I took a break after working on Life in Trees for 10-12 hours to work on another little piece that was just calling to me.

In news of the stitchy world...

So some time ago, I put away all stitching. Now I don't care about my thesis, so I'm feeling all kinds of apathetic toward school and kinda annoyed with life in general and thinking that I would pull the stitching out. I'm sure that will change soon. I promise to work on my thesis... next week (heh).

During my self created non-stitching-time, I did allow myself one project: The UFORR.

And then - June sent me a RAK! My care package consisted of the Griffon bookmark by Dracolair (holy baby octopus does that thing have some fractionals, but it's the bookmark I've wanted the mostestest!), and what may break my non-stitchingness, the 2004 Hummingbird from Crossed Wing Collection. I noticed it was postmarked on 1/29. The postman dropped hid secured it behind some potted plants, and I would have never seen it if I hadn't gone out the front to try to figure out what I want to do with the butterfly garden this year (I have a plan!)

I originally intended for this to be the year of the Hummingbird. Last year I wanted to get all of the Mirabilia holiday fairies done (and well, yeah, I'm running behind on that one), and this year I wanted to be the year of the Hummers. I even bought the appropriate fabrics from CATS. I may go ahead and break them out. They're small, and at least I'll feel like I might have accomplished something, right? A few small projects won't hurt anyone, right? right?

In the meantime, I've put away the books for now, so that I'll stick to reading/studying the LATG handbook that I put by the wayside. Since I bummed myself out and decided to not go to a couple of classes I was planning on, I've decided that I have no excuse *not* to get my LATG certification by the end of summer. Plans, you see. Plans.

Oi! Decisions, Decisions

I'm part of a UFO-round robin and I love it. I have had a lot of fun stitching on some pieces I wouldn't normally stitch, but I like the actual process of stitching, so it doesn't matter if the picture is pretty. And it's fun to see pieces you've never seen stitched before. The best part is, a UFO that has been languishing in my craft room for years is getting some attention, somewhere.

So I joined the next round of UFO-round robinning. I'm really excited. I was thinking *wow* I'll get SO much finished with that piece!!!

But then I saw a recent update picture, and now I'm wondering if I should even send that off. Maybe I should send the other UFO that's going crazy growling in its box.

So I need to be honest. Would I stich more on Chinese Dragon or more on LPD. Has enough been done on LPD that I would get a kickstart and be able to finish it? When I look at it, I feel like WOW, so much is done! I'm inspired!! And sort of think I want to work on it. There are a lot of metallics and beads, which I love.

And then there's Chinese Dragon by Pinn Stitch. My aunt gave him to me as a gift (kitted up and everything), and I really want to get him going, but I keep stalling. He's on aida, which honestly doesn't bother me one bit (though I definitely didn't choose it), but there's just so much to do, and he's not been a priority. If I decided to send him, I'd have to organize the kit, which would be ridiculously fun for me, because I have a horrible case of ILoveOrganizing-itis. I'd even grid him out so the poor hapless victims of the UFORR wouldn't have to work on the corner bit if they didn't want to.
